ASSISTANT EDITOR

Reporting to the Commissioning Editor, Elgar Original Reference and responsible for commissioning new edited reference works in the Social Sciences, the ideal applicant will possess:

MARKETING ASSISTANT

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to support our marketing department. Working collaboratively in a small team, key responsibilities will include the administration of promotional campaigns, including email and website marketing, social media and the organisation of book reviews.

Outstanding organisational, communication and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise, are essential, as is excellent attention to detail. In addition, knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Campaign Monitor, WordPress or Filemaker would be an advantage.

Experience of working in the marketing or the publishing industry is desirable.

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week, based at our office in Cheltenham UK. Working arrangements will be discussed at interview.

PUBLISHING ASSISTANT

We are looking for a graduate who can demonstrate an interest in book publishing to join our busy editorial and production team. The successful candidate will liaise with editors, production staff and suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the editorial production office. 

Good digital, communication and organizational skills, along with computer literacy, are essential requirements. The successful candidate will ideally have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Adobe and will demonstrate enthusiasm to develop their skillset. Experience of Photoshop is also desirable. You will need to be careful and methodical as well as flexible and adaptable.
